    Holding on to the ranking for a favorable draw is stupid? Take your emotions out and think. I am very much saddened by the fact that Palestine match is cancelled and I think Palestine is beatable. I saw their last match against Bhutan, but there is nothing wrong with the statement 'We want to hold on to the ranking for a favorable draw'. Only 1 strong team in our group in Asian cup can give us a good chance of making it past group stage. And yes, Rohan, we didn't cheat. If FIFA's ranking system allows us to manipulate or play with it and reach 96, it is not our fault. We are not the only nation doing it.

    Saving money by not organising Friendlies.

    1) Money is better spent by having meetings in Taj Mahal Hotel Mumbai with luminaries like Abhishek Bachchan to discuss future of Indian Football.
    2) Once in a while spending a fortune by inviting teams like St Kitts give good commission to/from Travel Agents at astronomical airfares. 
    3) Not playing any match will ensure good ranking !!!  AIFF theory - this should be taught in universities across the world wherever sports is taught as  curriculum

    @sam ; This has been discussed before so many times. Many strong teams can feature in other pots. It is more of luck in getting a favourable group.

    Yeah, I know that. e.g. Iraq was/is below us. But we should try in every possible way to increase the chances of getting a good draw.

    No team improves this way. Past 2-3 years, tell 1 decent opposition we played? Why fear of loss? Unless we play strong opponents we are not going to improve by any means.And then suddenly when we face any such team, we will get disastrous results, pushing us back by another mile. Once in a while manipulating is ok, but Indian national team looks to be purely based on manipulation

    If we fear Palestine then no use playing AFC Asian Cup were we might end up playing Japan,Iran,Korea,Saudi,Australia

    We just want to stick to Nepal,Maldives kinda teams 
    Market ourselves, bring sponsors

    Fuck development if we run away from challenges like Cowards
