First off, lets wait for him to actually start for Stabaek before talking about England. This is only pre-season, not the actual season.

Also, if we are to talk about it, I would rather he move to Germany than England.

Whats the fascination with EPL? Gurpreet is 23 I guess, he should first concentrate on becoming the first choice goalie for a Danish/Norwegian top league club and then think about moving elsewhere. In the meantime, he must play for Indian NT. The India International/Indian No.1 tag will do a lot of good to his CV in the world where ISL has been born.

thats what i says !! he will stay in norway for 2 years but in same time he need to play 70 % matches of national team !

He should stay in Norway until he establishes himself... look at Mat Ryan in the Belgian league. Guy has easily been one of the best keepers in that league and yet still has to wait for his chance to go to a higher league and the Belgian league is arguably better than Norway.

For a player to move to England, his country also needs to be in the top 70 in terms of FIFA rankings.

The FA has strengthened the rule for overseas players, it will be difficult. If he becomes a regular starter for Stabaek and some good performances he will surely land somewhere with a more competitive league and not necessarily in EPL.

But playing in England is a bit complicated after FA revised the rules for overseas player. I was just trying to say he could go to a more competitive league and Al Habsi started playing in England several years ago but the rules have changed.

The work-permit rules apply to every league... including the bloody 5th tier of English football!!! Remember when Chhetri and Lalpekhlua had to deal with that with Rangers.
