Not the absence of national players affect them. The style of play. Long ball is a total waste in international football. Look today BFC did not get a single chance to score. Defenders with good anticipation could easily deal with long balls. If our national team return to this style we should thrashed by quality oponents same like Bob houghton era ( not nepal , Bhutan like teams)
Almost every LOCAL player on Persipura are better than BFC foreign player's. Add that to missing National team player's and U23 boys like Siam & Shankar...I'm surprised the scoreline wasn't greater.
and their national team is ranked what 146th? and their club just beat the Champions of India I-league. with a modest score line. So where exactly is Indian football heading? @gaffertape
Our clubs have regressed a lot in recent years at Asia Level. Earlier we were competitive even at tough West Asia zone with Arab Teams. We wanted to kick out Air India and ONGC because we wanted Direct slot in Asia Champions League. Now we are struggling to even reach past Group Stage at weak East asia Zone. I will not be surprised if they give only 1 slot to India for AFC Cup for next year.
BFC foreigners were not up to the mark. With the main players missing the foreigners should had taken control. This shows that BFC should have signed new foreigners.
