Africans are narurally able to adapt to Indian football and like Dhritiman once said over power defenders with physique and score but will fail against strong Asian team they will not sucees in Asia Kuwait SC in 2013 Afc cup dominated Uga Okpara who was then best defender in i-league even when they were down to 10 Men and even scored
and Europeans find it hard to adapt to Asian football is the Reason why K-league J-league nd Chinese teams prefer Brazillians and Chinese clubs pay huge transfer fee for Brazillians they bring both Physique and technical skills and easily adapt to any kind of football that why they suceed in every league while Italians hardly suceed in foriegn leagues as they couldnt adapt
probably signing some good Brazillians will benifit i-league teams both in league and asia
and they will get better Brazillians than money they pay for Ranty Odafa kind players
Not entirely true. Look at the recent AFC Champions League champions for example, the Western Sydney Wanderers. They had an Italian and a Croatian player starting. Al Hilal did have 2 Brazilians but they also had a Korean and Romanian.
The Japanese sign a lot of Brazilians as the clubs have close ties with the Brazilians and also the J.League is a very quick, technical league and the Brazilians can adapt to that but they also sign a lot of Aussies, Koreans, Eastern Europeans, and sometimes players from Italy and other places. Chinese clubs also sign a lot of Brazilians but they also sign a lot of players from Europe but these guys are guys who would only go for money and money only (Sammir for example who went from Getafe to Jiangsu).
You are right that these Africans can just barge through the defenders and that it can work here but not really in Asia but the answer does not exactly lie in signing players of a specific nation. The answer is just changing the football culture and philosophy in India. We need to work harder on developing players of all positions who can be technically/skillfully good with the ball while also being fit physically that they won't be hampered by these African players and that they can skillfully make them look silly instead of "I-League Messi". We also need to a little more careful in the foreigners we bring in.
It won't happen quickly but it needs to happen sooner rather than later.
Haha, ya, last December when I was doing my usual "I wonder who the top talents in other countries are?" search I found out about him and thought "Okay, next stop is probably Belgium or maybe even Germany."
Fast forward to end of February and I go to the 2015 CSL page to see which Brazilian Guangzhou overpayed for this time and there this guy is for Jiangsu... I just could not fucking believe it.
And ya, salaries in those countries are not that great at all and honestly if we can pay over $100,000 a year to Odafa and co. then we can easily bring in talent from Eastern Europe and Scandinavia and the Baltics.
