From the current scenario, the merger is not at a question.... in next 4-5 seasons we can come to kow whether ISL is sustainable... if they are then AIFF would simply ask for top i-league clubs to merge with ISL teams with particular amount needed to be shown as financial capacity of team to survive.... then remaining teams playing in what could be our then 2nd division....
Else ISL would be proved a glamarous failure and would be scrapped and I-league would be given a major revamp with clubs like dempo officially reanming them as FC Goa and the owners of ISL clubs in cities like delhi, kerala and chennai decide to invest in less loss oriented I-league
Whatever it is.. we cant expect the solution to this big question in next 5 seasons i believe...
@preetam Ranchi Rhinos has closed down. Also Mumbai Magicians has closed down. Even though Ranchi was a successful franchise, there was fighting between owners Patel group,Uniexcel and financial problems. New Franchise is with Sahara Group and Dhoni as fake owner. Team is called Ranchi Rays. Financial viability of any Sports Team in Franchise Model is dependent on how the main business of the owners is going on.
From Sachin Tendulkar to Football League - Bristol City and Yeovil Town favourite Jamie McAllister's next move
“It was an incredible experience and a great opportunity that I couldn’t turn down,” he said. “It was superb, I really enjoyed it.
“If Sachin Tendulkar was with us the support was crazy. We would turn up at the airport and there would be thousands of people waiting.
“He was such a great guy. He was such a humble man but like a god. He would come to all the games and he would come into the hotel, meet the boys and would give motivational words – he was a big part. He’s got a big love for football and wants to promote the game in India.”
You mean the start of the season. Elano will join them for the state league which begins at the end of the month and goes on till April. The Serie A will begin around that time so if Elano impresses in the state league he will probably get a contract for the Serie A as well.
Some of these are hilarious... others are serious. I was more intrigued by the comment about how the ISL is just a tournament, entertainment and how the I-League was the serious football. Why can we not have a football league that provides both entertainment value, brings in the casuals, and also have it be serious football?
