USFC might have got URO as a main sponsor for 2 Cr, but they will only see about 1/3 right now and the promise of the rest at the end of the season. Shudl they get relegated , expect URO to walk away with unpaid bills as Chirag Computers did with Viva Kerela last season
how very very true...u hit bulls eye with your answer!!!
From what I have seen from my wikipedia work with United Sikkim you guys have a very young team but at the same time some great experience in Baichung, Michael and Philipp. Not saying this will help them be champions but perhaps this will help them long-term. I see United Sikkim starting bad, finishing the first half of the season in 13th place but then a good second half pushing up to 8th or 9th which is not bad. You guys can then build from there but Michael and Baichung will probably leave (contract out and Bagan buy him while the other retires)

Will Baichung Bhutias United
Sikkim Football Club (USFC) shift base
from Gangtok to Siliguri and embrace a
new identity.
Thats the proposal of Trinamool
Congress leader Gautam Deb,who is the minister for North Bengal
development,for former Indian football
captain.
His logic: create a unique fan
base for North Bengal which can rival
supporterbased clubs like East Bengal
and Mohun Bagan.
The state government has already
earmarked a large swathe of land near
the North Bengal University campus in
Siliguri for Baichung to set up an
academy,with Deb being given the
responsibility to initiate talks with Baichung over implementation of the
project.
Debd latest proposal is aimed to
promote North Bengal.The official work
regarding Baichungs football academy
will get underway soon. But we want Baichungs image to be associated with
promoting the North Bengal brand as a
whole.
Thats why we want Baichungs football
team not to be limited within Sikkim
only but a part of North Bengal. We have suggested to him that the name
of the team be changed to North Bengal
United Football Club, which will give the
region a separate football identity.
We
will then have a support-based club
here, like East Bengal and Mohun Bagan in Kolkata, the minister said.
Baichung admitted that he had received
the proposal to rechristen his team.
Im
very serious about the academy in
Siliguri, but have not yet thought about
changing the base of my team, he told TOI from Gangtok.
According to Baichung,he is in touch
with Deb to finalise the nitty-gritties of
the academy project.
Im happy with the land in Siliguri and
quite eager to set up the academy there. But the idea of relocating the
teams base from Paljor Stadium to
elsewhere is a bit far-fetched now, he
added.
Deb,however,is confident that his plan
will materialise. We are going ahead with the proposal.Im likely to sit with
Baichung next month and am confident
that we will have a football team in the
region soon, the minister maintained.
