here is a pic. imageno. 4 is new striker from togo.no. 30 is sogan.no. 10 is salau.
the one who is standing beside no. 24 is nepali/indian pealsang lama.

  • So wait... what happened with Michael Rodrigues... he was added to the Fed Cup squad but due to paper work did not attend... as did not the other foreigners (exception of Salau who came in that last match).

  • Please dont tell me Michael left now. I still refuse to fully believe what @Gaffertape says about United Sikkim but every single day it seems he is more right. When you guys were a 2nd Division club you were able to attract the stars like Renedy Singh and Baichung (last time in his prime) and quality international foreigners like Joe Lapara, Johnny Monyengar etc. You guys had a great goalscorer in Daniel Bedemi but let him go and replace him with Salau who's best moments were in Nepal and the bloody Calcutta Football League.

You guys might as well sign Uttam Rai and debut him at the age of 15. Uttam could probably run circles around Salau for all I know.

The move to Siliguri , doesn't appeal to any of us , as it goes completely against what we are hoping for in Indian football, i.e. more cities, greater spread...etc.
    However, given the following factors:
The nearest airport Bagdogra ( or for that matter train station )is over 100kms and over 4 hrs away from Paljor. This is against one of the AFC club licensing criteria.
More importantly , Sikkim as with other North Eastern cities does not have the population or financial clout to attract main stream sponsors.
Moving to Siliguri will certainly solve these issues , BUT most importantly it will solve the crucial question of how this club will continue.

Looking at the books , this club will fail t exist beyond this season, URO will forfiet on the remaining payments and the club will have to be sold as Bhaichung cannnot fund it and neither will he get a buyer/investor for a relegated team.

Fidelis have already tried to sell their stake, but 25Crore for 40% is a ridiculous valuation, and one could pick up a Club in a Major Metro for that kind of change.

  • While I disagree (for now) that USFC will disband at the end of the season you do bring good points.

I would think however that Baichung and company knew what they were getting into before starting anything. However that does not seem to be the case anymore. I had hope for this club but from the points you bring up, it does seem that unless the Paljor fills up with 15,000-25,000 people a game, this club wont survive.

About the airport by the way, the Pakyong Airport is expected to be completed by late 2012/early 2013 so once that is operational the airport problem is solved but the rest is a mess.

The Shillong airport was due to be completed in 2011, it was ( the new terminal buildings) , but the runway hasn't been extended yet , so still no regular flights.
Teams fly to Gauhati and take the 3-4 drive up for the games.

Wouldn't expect Pakyong airport to be completed in time, this is India after all.
Even in a Mumbai with Prafoools help, Cooperage is still taking an eternity to be completed...

Even if USFC don't disband at the end of the season , they will be sold for a fraction of what Fidelis put in , and become the next Viva Kerela of Indian football, just existing until some buyer/sponsor decides he might be able to change their fortunes.

When you delve into investing in USFC , but its a facade and as you can see by their FB page updates and foreigner fiasco, their is a lot of amateurish functioning's behind the scenes.

Paljor will only sell out for the 'big games' , East Bengal , Mohun Bagan and Dempo , after a few losses , fans will desert this stadium.
Even at full capacity , the ticket sales won't cover the player wages for this season.

  • @Pratik234 How would you feel if this club was named United Goa FC.

  • Pratik234 said:
this club will be disband in next 2  years even they don't pay players their salary shame shame will be getting thrashed in i league expect them to receive 12 goals in each game with bottom table clubs like ongc air india but teams like salgaocar churchill dempo east bengal will score goals at their will may be 30 goals per match and hard to see them scoring single goal in entire i league season

    frustration @ it's peak.lol

  • Dempo cant win the Federation Cup so lets take apart the smaller team.

Come on Pratik. You started off so well on IFN, restore some pride in yourself mate.
