I just want a coach who won't pick guys like Sumeet Passi, Jackichand Singh, and Bikash Jairu to the squad. His assistants are shit as well. We have over a year before the Asian Cup, do it now
You are right. We are not going to have lot of international matches or Friendlies before AFC Asian Cup 2019. New coach needs more time to test and build a new squad. Our association is not organised enough. Even after qualifying for World Cup next year, England Germany Spain are going to play Friendlies and their players will take break from Premier League, Bundesliga, la liga. Look at India where as long as ISL going on, no Friendlies. What will a new coach do now to build a new squad? At least SC will carry on. Future is Ghanta!!!
Do you really think the AIFF will be that evil to not give India any matches before the 2019 AFC Asian Cup? We will have the match in March, the SAFF Championship in September. We have time to get a few friendlies in during the summer and even after that.
Some will be there. A new coach will need more if you are looking at making a different squad. Technically we have just one away match in Kyrgyzstan and then SAFF cup which many people here do not even wish to send senior squad.
With a new coach we would have to send our senior team to the SAFF Championship and I am sure we will get a few friendlies for a new coach (in theory, if we do get a new coach, we would do so with the plan to schedule friendlies).
And honestly, there isn't to much tinkering the squad needs. Besides guys like Isaac, Brandon, Jayesh, and Kean needing to be added while guys like Jackichand are removed, we have a decent squad already. They just need a better coach who the players actually like and who knows how to train them. Also if those four and more deserve to be in the squad, they would have this season and a bit of next to show it.
