2015 Malabar Premier League

Thought it was time to get the thread up and running for the Malabar Premier League, the new local league based in Kerala. The season will open on 11 April 2015 with Basco Blasters taking on Super Fighters at 6:35 pm at the Kottapaddi Football Stadium.

Looks like each of the eight teams will have a "celebrity" player on their side... one of which includes recent Indian international, NP Pradeep (for Super Fighters).

Celebrity players:

C. V. Pappachan for Bosco Stallions. 

Abdul Hakim for Ernad Stallions.

NP Pradeep for Super Fighters

KT Chacko for Valluvanadu Warriors

Kurikesh Mathew for MSP Delta Force

U.Sharafali for Soccer Sultans

Asif Saheer for Titans

Jo Paul Anjeri for Spartans

It's more of a Malappuram Premier league as all teams are limited to just that district.

Of course, a league comes up with brand new teams and celebrity players and is thus a stunt league and nothing that wants to be proper.

They just seem to be players who've actually played professionally before and somewhat internationally. This league is for amateurs so the few pro players in the league make them "marquees" so to speak.

Sadly for only one month though. Ideally the state leagues should be 3-5 months long AT LEAST.
