Atleast something that would help identify some talent. Hope all states accross the country do something more. A stronger state or districts league is good for Indian football.
I still believe the AIFF should make this a plan. IMO, the ISL will eventually engulf the I-League (if things that should happen do happen) so the next step is grassroots and state leagues and the ISL seems set on their grassroots but we still need a lot of development with state leagues. The AIFF should make regulations on how a state league should run (8-10 teams, 3-5 months long, and yes, promotion/relegation between the top state leagues and below).
Eventually the hope should be that we can have enough proper state leagues to create a proper FA Cup tournament and also have ISL "B" teams in these state leagues and who knows... maybe develop a "second" division nationally.
In theory it looks good to read but put into effect, they will have to go through a lot of resistance, money is one among them. The AIFF is not rich. Then sponsors, there was a period where no one wanted to sponsor us.
Agree. Obviously if something like this was to be implemented it would need to be a long-term plan which is what I believe will have to be done anyway to get anywhere. Nothing will be quick anymore.
Well we badly needed a start for others to follow and I hope this is a start. It certaily would take time as you said that is welcome than just sleeping and doing nothing.

I thought this league was, at least, going to run for a month or more but turned out to be only for 17 days.
