This i believe is wishful thinking. ISL is a for profit league run by some of the shrewdest business minds in India. The goal remains to make money in as short time as possible. They grassroots program is a joke (it is intentional). By getting Sachin to appear for some weekend coaching programs is not going to develop the next Jakiechand.
Why do you think people such as Stan Kronke, the Glazers, Fenway Sports Group, Middle Eastern companies etc are in football? Everything is for money and they already said they ain't getting profit for 3-5 years. MLS is 20 years old and not all our clubs are on profit... same in the Premier League.
The grassroots programs do seem like a joke but they do cost money, they arn't cheap to set-up. You have to pay to get the grounds ready, balls pumped, stations set, coaches payed, uniforms etc. The production takes money as well and honestly, wait and see what they do, there is a reason they're doing this at the U14 to U11 level and not U19/U16.
