Naujawan It means that Oman is well prepared for this upcoming match whereas Mr. Stephen has already stated before that he should have been given 3 to 4 weeks time for preparing the Indian team. I don't want to sound pessimistic but what chance do we have against a team who are playing as a team for the last couple of months preparing themselves and finding out their shortcomings.
India should have had more practice before this WCQ if we want to qualify for Asian Games and possibly World Cup. Look how people in this forum are bashing against Stephen Constantine for selecting this player and that. At least we would have known which player plays well for the national team if we had practice match against tough opponents (okay not european teams but teams similar to Oman).
@Cybertron Where is the time for Friendly? We barely finished I-League 10 days ago? Players are tired. I am not sure whether Army Training also was beneficial after such a long season and in this summer? I hope all players have recovered from fatigue.
Watched the team train today. Constantine had one team (in blue) play with a heavy focus on defensive shape with the midfield playing a high pressing game, with the opposing team (in red) trying to make incisive runs and through balls. The shape wasn't adhered to at most times, players looked like strangers without a natural understanding of where to position themselves vis-a-vis their teammates.
West Block (upper & lower) is sold out, while north upper & lower only have a few tickets left. Sadly East Block (the stand that's on the background on TV) seems to be empty. Kyazoonga guy told me to show up at 6pm for the 7pm kickoff, so there might be a sizable crowd. I'm estimating a crowd of about 10k+, but I'm being cautiously optimistic.
