Overall good game but slow players got exposed at international level today like Eugene,Sehnaj, Robin,Ganesh..I think if the team believes they can match any opponent then they can perform even better..first half was lost due to nerves and inexperience..2nd half 0-0
I have a different issue to talk about. The online ticketing system by kyazoonga has been very poorly organised. Bengaluru FC's tie up with bookmyshow is so much better. There was only few people distributing tickets and a huge crowd had to wait outside. Irony is that the counter for buying tickets on spot was pretty small. So, we had to wait in the queue for long, then shifted to the other queue to by tickets again (basically wasted our online ticket, not very costly though). I hope these guys make better arrangements next time, if anyone with links with AIFF reading this, please convey the issue. Because of this, the crowd reached its maximum potential only at 30 mins mark.
Over all I think we played well.I feel Defensive lapses cost us.Midfield and defence needs to be looked upon. I feel the stage is set for some young players to be tested. As it is we will find it difficult against these teams but we can test out our future players.
Midfield can't retain the ball, can't pass and can't win the ball.Lb and rb are just hoofing the ball like u get extra points for shifting the ball in opponents half. Robin(the less spoken the better it is) Seriously I feel players from different age groups (u-19,u-23) should b considered. At times when our rb,lb,cm's were playing it seemed as if they were scared,no creativity. I mean no. Of touches our both forwards had were less than 15(combined).how can u win a match in such type of scenario We played well with resources we had but time has come for us to expand our resources.
More than scared, I think the instructions from SC were pretty clear and they wanted to be as obedient as they could to impress him, eventually losing out on personal flair. Eugeneson was the only play maker but since every time we won the ball in our third, we hoofed it ahead giving very little opportunity to play a midfield game. It's hard to score when Arnab Mondal and Subrata paul are the ones who keep trying to make incisive passes.
