The friendly match proove succesful as striker Jakob Vanlalhlimpuia and defender Joe Zoherliana will join the ISL side FC Pune City from 1st January 2018. The deal was struck straight after the friendly match on Monday night before the team left for home.
Jacob has featured in HPC Cup, Lunglei for his hometown Hnahthial and Subroto Cup U-17 in 2015. He caught the attention of the AIFF scouts in the latter tournament who immediately selected him to train at AIFF Academy. He left the Academy after sometime and joined the current MPL champions Chanmari FC this season and has become one of the rising stars in the league since then. He hails from Hnahthial, the home town of India international Jeje Lalpekhlua who also happens to be a family relative.
Joe Zoherliana is a product of Shillong Lajong and has been an integral part of the Lajong set up. He has won the Shillong Premier League and has featured in I-Day Football Tournament played in Aizawl for his former club Lajong. A young and athletic defender Joe is can play in both flanks. He was born and bought up in Lengpui and is the cousin brother of Chhuantea Fanai.
