Willing to take a bet...like kbfc before 100 more messages either BFC will shut shop or join ISL....eitherways this should be their last i- league campaign
We will see. I am not going to make any foolhardy predictions as of yet, but they have done very well to engage the fans, connect with the locality and have actually made fans in India, while playing football with purpose and winning trophies. They have a youth system in place and will un-earth good talent soon; they were unfortunate in the last U19 I-League. I think its a little disappointing to see such pessimism towards what is without a doubt the best run club in Indian football.
Thanks for the update about BFC guys. I feel the key for them would be winning tough away fixtures which they failed last season, EB MB and if RWFC plays, that match.
@EastBengalPride RWFC is not there anymore! This year's league will essentially be about MB/EB/BFC/Salgaocar (maybe), the other 3-4 teams are going to be a joke just to make up the minimum nos for the #AIFF to avoid an #AFC/#FIFA sanctions.
@atiljg we can dispute the TRP nos but PKL has smartly chosen its franchise cities and I for one have witnessed the huge turnouts and now they are going to have 2 seasons a year which will make it even better for the franchises to connect. Amongst all the new age leagues mushrooming in the country, this seems to be the best planned and executed (after #IPL)
Perhaps the best example of how to take a truly niche sport and make it big . UTV &Star Sports have done a fabulous job.
If only #AIFF & #HI could have taken a local partner like UTV who was here for the long run and not some quick buck......but then again politicians need money now not distributed over a decade.
