My two cents on the game today.. This was the first time I saw an I league Div 2 game after closely watching I league, NT and ISL games.. Quality of players on display was pretty poor..maybe that's understand able since these are new teams and Fateh looked to have mostly u-21 sort of guys..Fateh has no foreigners and Gangtok had 2 Africans who can easily be replaced by any mediocre I league player.. Stadium is decent but really bad pitch.. Close to 300 ppl attended the game.most of those looked like players relatives or those associated with Fateh.. Wish Fateh had promoted the game better coz they can actually get a very big crowd in the heart of the city.. Hopefully this season ppl will finally recognize there is a team in the city.. On the pitch I doubt if Fateh will win even 1 game in this league.. Though they had more of possession but there is absolutely no one in the team who can even finish a simple chance.. Former international Nitin Juyal was very disappointing and got substituted in 2nd half.. Rest of the players are absolute unknown entities.. Their two CB's seemed like the best players... @shankar Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium capacity is 25000. That makes it bigger then Balewadi Stadium which is around 23000. This was a happy hunting ground for India Cricket team. I remember 186 by Tendulkar here.
It is also Athletics stadium. Maybe soe parts of stands are more fit for Athletics events and far away fro green turf where Football is played. thats why they do not use those stands for selling tickets of football.
If they do it at Srinagar, then they got Home advantage as temperatures are low there at this time and in coming weeks. It will not be easy for other teams to play in such cold. Same advantage with Gangtok.
