@Ashlesh All I'm saying is that right now there are say about 120 players playing in the I-league 1st and 2nd divisions(Indian players only, FPAI records). and that same amount or probably quarter that amount are recycled by playing them in ISL also.. BUT if the proposed plan takes shape, there will be about 250+ players in the top 3 leagues , getting televised, getting larger paychecks. Also, a player who does not get enough game time at the highest level can drop down the leagues but not lose out TOO much.
I might still be in school but I am as ardent a football fan as you guys here on this Forum and I have no wrong intentions. Correct me if I fall out of line.......
You are an ardent football fan, no denying that... but the general feeling here is that this idea is okay but we have been through this before... what are the chances this does actually happen in the way it is proposed? This is Indian football, there is always a catch.
I do work on wikipedia which involves gathering articles from a long time ago. I have seen articles in which the AIFF start a plan to get into the 2006 World Cup... then 2010... then 2014... then 2018 etc etc. And right now we are at a stage in which we don't even know what is happening anymore and no one can predict what will happen.
So the guys on this forum are now so dissatisfied and pessimistic with AIFF s negligence and so are reacting in this way...... Oh now I get it!! So this is the background feeling on this forum... Thanks @ArsenalFan700
do not shoot me for saying this, but Kolkata does have enough support to sustain 3 clubs. In order to make football pan India we do sometimes forget to unearth the potential any particular region has and that's the fallacy in Indian football.
Goa too has enough resources to sustain 3 clubs.
NE, has much more potential..
don't get me wrong but a country like Iceland having less than 1/3rd the population of Kolkata, can play like they did in the euro cup, because the true potential has been unearthed from whatever resources they have..
It is true earlier leagues probably failed because of not being pan India, but still pulling up resources and talents where initially its certain it really exists should also be focus rather than building everything from scratch and loosing existing potential..
@ArsenalFan700 NO not at all! Looking at the state of football in India, I too feel the same way... But BFC to us bengalureans was a breath of fresh air... I have played in Dubai, Singapore and other Asian countries and at he youth level we are not too far behind them... But infrastructure and facility -wise , there is no comparison... The main reason i joined this forum is too have someone to talk to about Indian Football, and honestly the rumours, criticism and other things just bought me into it ... So again , @gaffertape I know i'm still in school and dont know the deep rooted evils in our system, but can we stop reminding everyone that in every post please? makes me feel like an outsider!
