1) I fail to understand any controversy here. AIFF know the FIFA and AFC Rules. It is upto AIFF to decide on the structure of Indian Football and bring upto AFC for Final approval. Until that thing happens, I-league is the main league. 2) At this moment AFC is not forcing anything on AIFF. It is upto AIFF if they wish to merge the leagues or to get ISL into recognition mode. 3) It will be inteersting to know that how many IMG-R people attended this meeting. IMG-R people also failed to attend any workshops for AFC Recognition. 4) I do not see any statement, either in favour or against, of ISL by FIFA / AFC bosses. I think that they are giving more time to AIFF to sort this 2 leagues issue.
They shouldn't. I don't mind one city-one team for other places like Pune, Mumbai... hell, even Goa as a state but not Kolkata. I understand making it that way at first but eventually we can have more than one team in other places, hopefully.
And? They can still play games outside of Kolkata but occasionally but East Bengal and Mohun Bagan are historically Kolkata clubs so why should they be told to permanently leave?
