That is stupid. The domestic cup competition should occur during the season. So basically it will be all ISL from September to March (maybe 2 teams in Asian competition) and that is it? The domestic cup could also be used to give younger players a chance to play but if it is after the ISL season then I doubt that will happen since there is no need to do so.
Not exactly. Does he just mean it will be 18 regular season games and then additional games from a finals series?
Also how do you get a minimum of 20 matches a season from him saying the Super Cup will be 45 matches? According to the proposal which I assume is still the same as before the top 8 teams go into the group stage so it is pretty much 3 games which for a domestic cup is fine and for a 5-7 month span I guess is okay.
Who has empowered Sundar Raman to speak about all these. Officially AIFF runs "Official" Football in India....or IMG-R has officially taken over AIFF ?
Raman is the CEO of the IMG-Reliance. IMG-Reliance are the organizers of the ISL under FSD. He didn't say anything (as far as I can tell) about the Indian football calendar or anything. Just about the ISL and the Super Cup.
If you add Gujarat and Ranchi teams on the number we already have got, how many matches it comes out? Also will they have I-League being played at the same time as ISL???
Comments
He says the league will likely have 90 matches and each club will play 18 league matches
And super cup will have 45 matches
So a club will play maximum 20 matches in a full season
This sucks
