There is a distinct difference between IPL & ISL. IPL does not hamper or alter or shorten or disrupt BCCI's Domestic & International Calendar & most importantly BCCI organizes IPL. If AIFF organized ISL& without disrupting their own Domestic & International schedule, no body would have bothered. National / I-League used to start in Sep/Oct & continued till April with some 12-14 teams. In order to accommodate ISL & to present them the most suitable climate, the I-League has been cut to 8-9-10 team affair & given a slot from January to May. Federation Cup used to have been held in Sep-Oct but now in May. All these just to make some businessmen happy. Why AIFF does not exchange the slot ? I-League & Fed Cup from Sep to Jan & ISL from Feb to May ? Any answer from FSDL ? PP's uttering of I-League being the no.1 League is just a nonsense which has no logic. Otherwise why AIFF can't market "their no 1" league ? Why AIFF can't provide quality telecast ? Why AIFF big bosses who follow Aunty every where during ISL can't be seen any where in the stadium during I-League ? Yes one or two can be seen only in a derby or in the match deciding the League Championship. Why AIFF is so keen to acquire official status to ISL when they already have that for I-League ? Mohun Bagan & EB are worried only because they realize that if by any means .....I repeat "any means" AIFF manages to get the official status for ISL, then they will start ignoring I-League even more & it will die a natural death just like some other big tournaments. Also do not understand why a meeting on 7th. une is to be held in Kualalumpur & not in Delhi ? Why a Big "barati" needs to be called ? Everything looks very hazy & surprisingly our Federation President is unlikely to attend the same. Does it indicate the relevance of this meeting ?
IPL & ISL run on same logic , indeed IPL was made as priority league, it was given slot(even as per ICC calender) and other tournaments like syed mushtaq ali trophy were sidelined ..dont believe it ? ask any mumbai Indian fan to name 5 guys in Mumbai ranji team.. they dont care... IPL never actually produced good players , in fact domestic teams are feeder for their squads.. player dont have loyalty with team e.g. rahane plays ranji for mumbai and IPL for rajasthan/pune
cricket has 3 formats so even if T20 is hampered players have tests and list A games..plus BCCI has made decent structure already,so players gets ample opportunities and most importantly our NT is doing well so nobody is bothered
@mohammed_87hassan mate...fully agree to your point. IFA under UG finished IFA shield, has converted CFL to a joke, so he organizing a Rebel League or parallel League can be as far from reality as North pole is from South Pole. Under the circumstances....everybody...Politicians, Club officials, State & National Sports Ministers, Football officials of state & centre all want to show their Love for Football
IFA shield just like a Durand or rovers or bordouli etc were some good tournaments which died a natural death following AIFF s complected procedures of fixing the no 1 league/tournament for the past 2 decades, which unfortunately even now they have not been able to fix. Such morons. All these tournaments never had official status since national league started and AIFF hardly have enough time or material to continue its success stories. Frankly I do not see it as a sole responsibility of IFA for its current dwindling state
In a sane domestic calendar IFA shield /rovers can become important pre season tournament with getting 1-2 quality club sides like they used to.....Right now Bengal need to kick start a meaningful state league (sep-feb/march)with 14-16 teams where IFA shield can become the equivalent of the fed cup for the state.
Mohun Bagan is trying to bargain here. They are ready to bid for ISL and have made all necessary arrangements. They want to try and get the fish for free, without spending a penny. But now we know, they are set to join ISL,even if they will need to pay. That is 100% sure.

Must consider playing in ISL or stay in I-League instead of listening to IFA's adivce taking on AIFF and IMG..
It will only harm them
