Yeah no one is going to come watch Collins, BFC must get a better 4th foreigner. And once Chhetri leaves end of season, they are going to feel the pinch.
A lot of the success of BFC revolves around Westwood and Chettri. With rumours of Kolkata clubs trying to bring westwood next season, BFC might lose many first team players. BFC fans are showing up in numbers as their club has been successful so far. Noone knows how the fans will react if BFC ends up having a couple of bad seasons (even face relegation) like the Goan clubs are having now
There are not too many clubs who can spend like BFC so they will be quite ok
BFC brand equity transcends both Chetri and Westwood are replaceable...IMO
Only in adversity can a club be tested...just hope that BFC dont end up the Bharat FC way. Even Bharat FC had rich owners. This is what their director Mr. Kunal Agarwal said at Bharat FC launch “We have a world class training facility at Manjri here and we hope to build a mega-stadium with all purpose facilities to make it a fan and family destination. It will cost the club around Rs. 950 crore, but the running of the club for a year though in the I-League would be around Rs. 12 crore,’’ said Mr. Agarwal in Jan 2015...August 2015 first team shuts down.
It is really funny that the Kolkata clubs are ridiculed for flaunting their history, while one or two losses for the corporate clubs brings on the thought of folding. Yet they are thought to be our best bets for moving forward. This when they themselves are not sure of themselves.
All this talk is stupid. Bengaluru FC still average a bit more than they did in 2013-14, their attendance still went up last season, abite with the bigger stadium, and they have had a crowd over 10,000 this season already.
