I think people are taking AFC rules too seriously.

Reliance can own the official league as song they register it as a separate entity. Do people really think premier league comes under FA?

wake up people.. I think the more you see and enjoy from the fans perspective things become easier instead of worrying about ownership legalities.

Yea reliance is building a product which they can sell later from the look of it.. but who will they market and sell the product to?

By end of ISL 3 we would know if they want to do anything with it, i.e. expand and develop further or junk it.

Expand/ Develop it further? Is there space to do that? Unless you are thinking of scrapping (or 'folding', which is a favourite term around here) I-league altogether for making the space. But then you would bring on the ire of FIFA.

If ISL becomes successful why would they want to sell it? What could actually transpire is that they would let AIFF owning the league as a statutory body while Rel would still yield the power and have important say in the administrative matter.

If ISL fails spectacularly in all fronts including TV revenue and spectators failing to turn up in stadium ,then only i see Rel contemplating to sell the product to a third party. Going by the looks of it ISL will be here for a while.

@Deb_Ban I meant absorbing some i-League clubs and new franchises. Make it a full fledged league which follows some norms and actually develop football. Other option is to scrap it and start over something new. ISL, how it stands as of today, is useless for the development of football or even help our NT in anyway. Its like the Kabbadi league, once its over, no one gives a rats ass about what happens through the rest of the year.

I would actually not mind if they scrapped the ISL and made something new. The ownership of the league is just to weird for me, with STAR Sports and IMG-Reliance basically a monopoly.
