Isl haters, pls. Continue your hate spewing in the relevant thread . As for DDFC, very good initiatives these past 2-3 days. Australia as a market is closer to home and following a similar league to what might happen in India. A partnership will help both clubs if at all it gets to that level.
First request DDFC to translate their 10 MOU into 1 functioning academy. Also hate to burst the balloon but training in Aussie winter and Swedish autumn is not exactly an ideal preparation for a football tournament in tropical heat.
Right on most parts. Will be nice to actually see an academy opening soon though 1st sept. Is not far off so let's wait till then. For the stint , it's not only about a week training abroad it's start of a cooperation between two clubs as a whole which is the point here. Having partnerships with big asian clubs will help isl teams as much as the European teams.
Reading more into the Anas and Souvik in Australia news... apparently it actually is a trial. If they impress in training (and during the season I guess), they could earn a move to the A-League in January. Would be impressive if true but sadly I doubt it happens.
And what happened to Mandar and his training in Villareal C ? I have following his Instagram but no update there since last week. Initial reports were that training is for 2 weeks, but its more than 3 weeks now....
Anas and Souvik are in training for 2 weeks and Australian club already confirmed in their website , but DD and ISL press release says it its trial which is haox .
The post on the Central Coast Mariners website includes the quotes from Prashant saying that it is a trial. They would not include those quotes if it was not a trial.
“Any kind of an exposure is a great thing for players and I am very hopeful of them getting through the trial."
"They have been our key players during the last season and if they can replicate that same form on the pitch in Australia, I am sure they will make through the trial,” Prashant added.
BTW, surprised you did not latch on to this quote from Zambrotta: "“It is a great opportunity for these young players, Zambrotta said. "To go and play in different leagues, and learning different football cultures helps in the development of a player."
