Burton have signed experienced goalkeeper Stephen Bywater on a contract until the end of the season.
The deal is subject to international clearance as the 34-year-old has most recently been playing his football in India for Kerala Blasters.
Bywater is reunited with manager Nigel Clough, who he also worked under at Derby, and he will provide competition and cover for Jon McLaughlin after Remi Matthews returned to Norwich at the end of his loan spell.
KingFut sources can confirm Wadi Degla are in talks to sign former Chelsea FC star Florent Malouda.
It is understood that the 35-year-old former France international winger has no problem in signing for the Cairo-based club after he was approached, but talks are still at an early stage.
Malouda current plies his trade at India’s Delhi Dynamos, who are managed by Brazil legend Roberto Carlos. The former Lyon and Chelsea winger has yet to score a goal in the Indian Super League, but managed to rack up eight assists in 16 appearances.
Wadi Degla, who are managed by Frenchman Patrice Carteron, a winner of last year’s CAF Champions League title with TP Mazembe, had previously released a statement that they were in talks to sign a ‘top international striker’ but kept the player’s name a mystery. It is expected that a deal could be concluded before the end of the winter transfer window.
Interestingly enough, Malouda is a shareholder of his brother Lesly’s former club, Ligue 2 side Dijon FCO, a club that Patrice managed for three years.
Florent Malouda and Wadi Degla manager Patrice Carteron are no strangers.
Malouda previously won the 2012 UEFA Champions League with Chelsea, as well as four Ligue 1 winner’s medals, three French Cup titles, one English Premier league medal and four FA Cup medals.
