Ipl cricketers and Ravi Shastri can get their pages verified if they want but they've chosen not to. It's their personal choice and it doesn't signify anything.
Well on a positive note someone is even willing to pay to get Indian football pages verified..That is commendable..Revenue is directly related to visibility. So if someone pays to create visibility, what's wrong in that? Hopefully any added revenue would go back to the league... No one would complain if tomorrow AIFF decides to pay to get Friday, Saturday,Sunday verified..
Why is FB verification such a big deal? Verification only means that the person operating the profile is actually that real person and that it is verified by FB. Thats it. It's just about authenticity
My curiosity is why would people be irritated here when ISL goes on a self publicity mode? its their money and its their marketing strategy, they arent evicting poor homeless folk for some people to feel so strongly.
Grapevine has it that Antonio Habas is on the way to joining Pune City FC, though Mumbai have also been courting him. Atletico de Madrid are reportedly not too keen in retaining him as Atletico de Kolkata coach for ISL season 3.
Indian Super League: Atletico de Kolkata renew contracts with Hume, Doutie and Nato
Atletico de Kolkata have been one of the most active clubs in the transfer market as they have already signed extension deals with three foreign players, namely Iain Hume, Sameehg Doutie and Oftense Nato, Goal can confirm.
According to those close to the development, Atletico sent contracts to the trio with improved deals as they seek to retain some of their best players from last season.
Hume has been one of the most sought-after players following his 11 goals for Atletico de Kolkata in the second edition of the Indian Super League (ISL). However, the former Leicester City striker has opted to renew his contract with the Kolkata franchise.
Doutie too impressed in his very first season as he scored three and assisted six apart from creating countless goal scoring opportunities for his team-mates.
Nato will ply his trade for the Kolkata franchise for the third season running as his versatility to fit in as a defensive midfielder or a centre-back has been an asset.
"I can't take names but we are in the final stages of negotiations with three or four foreign players that we wish to retain. I expect the deals to be signed soon and we will make it official then," said Atletico de Kolkata official Subrata Talukdar.
