Trevor Morgan will not be there in kbfc coaching staff next season as the blasters management has fired him despite the poor run of the team last year.-ISL Trolls Good riddance IMO
Already posted and already confirmed... just not by the team yet.
It might be a 6-month loan btw. New York City FC don't have any international spots left but may put their young Englishman, Jack Harrison on the injury list which apparently clears a spot. Details have not been released yet.
So there is a chance Mendoza comes back for the third season of ISL but he is obviously too good. I would like to see him make it at a higher level but as an Indian football fan, I would love it if he stayed in India as a marquee for Chennaiyin, he bloody deserves it, and if ISL really does get to the point where we can have teams in Asian competition, having a guy like Mendoza would be massive.
Which leads me to this suggestion (what else would I do): Should ISL have two marquee spots? One spot for the "big name" like Anelka, Riise, etc. basically guys who established themselves abroad... and then another one for guys who made their name in ISL.
Essentially the rule would work in that, say, for Mendoza, he would qualify. He entered the ISL as not a marquee but he has done well enough to be a marquee. He is also very young and if ISL does transfer fees, could get a good fee in the future (by what would be ISL standards). This rule could also apply to guys such as Gustavo Marmentini (well, season one Gustavo), Nicolas Velez etc. Basically these guys will need to be young (under-30) and also be approved by ISL and said to have impacted the game enough to be payed outside the salary cap.
I also saw a suggestion in the A-League reddit that the fans would like to propose removing the salary cap for foreign players and go 3+1 (like in Asian competition). Is that something ISL should go for? Maybe 5+1 and no salary cap... or an adjusted one, but keep one for Indians.
very high chance he will be back for ISL under marco.
there are plenty of players like him in academies in south america, the problem is your clubs like barcelona etc have such a deep scouting network there thats it impossible for limited scouting ability teams like india to even get a uselful talent.
I think the tieup with paranese has yielded results, I believe ISL clubs having tieups in South america instead could yield good results too.
Delhi Dynamos might go for Sony Norde or Yusa Katsumi or both for the 3rd edition of Hero Indian Super league, 2016. Legendary Raman Vijayan, who is the asst coach for Delhi Dynamos was in Barasat Stadium last night to watch live both Sony Norde and Yusa Katsumi of Mohun Bagan. Last season in ISL Norde was a vital part for mumbai City FC. He along with Yusa Katsumi, are now one of the finest combination in the recent history of Indian Football. they are the main reason behind Bagan's success this I-League season. undoubtedly this two foreigners are the most experienced with Indian conditions at present.
