Steven Mendoza made his MLS debut with NYCFC yesterday... was pretty poor for the 20 minutes he played, had a very weak shot which was always going wide but he at least had energy and hustled and helped in defense.
It was and ya, agree. It was his first match a couple days after his signing so he probably barely trained with the team and it was against one of the more solid defensive sides so give it a month or so to see how he gels.
It's definitely good to have the good performing I league foreigners in ISL. With 6 foreigners playing, having 1 or two from I league will only strengthen the teams. Of course they have to be of good quality rather than the Cornell glens of the league.
@usaindia Why not... If a Katsumi Yusa has adjusted to life in India and can perform at the levels required by the ISL then why not...? His team mates from club are all praise for him...both on and off the field...
Clearly African and asians (Koreans , Japanese etc) have shown a better ability to work in Indian conditions than European who invariably are "shocked seeing cows on street"....am not sure of a single European who has been a real asset
