I will not say European are bad players eg Duffy, Johnson are good players but they are more effected by our culture then the Africans ,south Americans or Asians especially English.
If any Foreigner talks about cows, elephants or dogs in the street, it is not necessary making fun or criticising India for poverty. For them, it is more about something strange or peculiar or they are even fascinated by it and their friends will be surprised. We should not take every cow comment negatively. If we go abroad, we also see poverty and other weird things. British, Portuguese people have lived in India for hundreds of years if we read our history. If their present generation cannot cope up with life in India, somebody else will.
Seems that this dust (foreigners complaining about India, Indians being accused of protesting too much) will not settle soon. I remember encountering this phenomenon for the first time when Boris Becker mentioned India as a place of rajahs, elephants, sadhus and magic. With the introduction of the ISL, a host of foreign players have come to India and commented on its bewildering multifariousness in various manners. While some have been outright snobbish and deprecatory of Indian culture, others have been experienced a culture shock and naturally commented about the poverty and other hassles faced in this country, though without any overt bitterness. Remember that we have coaches like Trevor James Morgan who have been coaching in India for a long time and of whom even the players (particularly in East Bengal) have been effusive for assimilating into Indian culture. I also partially agree with @ArsenalFan700 that journalists sometimes tend to focus more on the negative comments in order to grab eyeballs. My point is not to tar everyone with the same brush, European or otherwise. Of course criticize where there is scope for criticism, but not to indulge in mudslinging, whether at members at IFN or other people. Let sanity and sportsmanship prevail!
