I am worried even this bunch world cup players will have same future as that of IMG-R guys. If the players are bit clever then they should take any offer coming from top footballing countries after world cup.
They're too young for that and college soccer would stunt their growth. It is not a viable way to gain entry into MLS or professional soccer as much as it used to be.
These guys would be 15-17 so if it was to be to come to the US and for education they would first have to be signed into an MLS academy and hopefully through the academy they can get into one of the partnered schools (like the LA Galaxy, who have a partnership with a local college in the area and thus the kids get free schooling).
Other than that, if Europe comes calling, like Scandinavia, Belgium etc. then they should go for it and hopefully this time since they are under the coaching of Adam, there won't be stopping these kids from going abroad.
I dont understand how IMG-Reliance would not give top-class facility to the Kid if they were planning for ISL...
The idea of best lot trained at IMG Florida rulling ISL in 3-4 year span of time looks such a great story... i wonder if they even gave their all to make ISL a successful product other than the idea of making most money from initial fame and withdraw once the dust settle... which seems the present situation
FC Goa has met and spoken to Laxmikant Kattimani, Romeo Fernandes and Mandar Rao Dessai but the players have decided to opt from signing as the team is still trying to negotiate financial terms. “Romeo Fernandes and Mandar Rao Desai have asked for time as they are looking for other options. They are not happy with the financial package being offered to them by us,” a highly placed FC Goa source told The Navhind Times.
“Mandar Rao Desai has asked for eighty lakhs. Romeo has asked around the same. Kattimani has asked less but FC Goa expect them to scale down. FC Goa has not asked them to climb down drastically but have asked them to look for a fifteen to twenty lakhs climb down.” disclosed our source.
Highly placed sources in FC Pune City have disclosed that negotiations with Mandar have reached a serious stage and in all probabilities he will be seen wearing their colours for the coming ISL.
The promotional body of ISL, Football
Sports Development Ltd, has since then lodged an appeal with the ISL
Appeals Panel against the 15-point deduction, as it felt the action of
individual owners should not affect the fans of FC Goa, and all teams
must compete on the field evenly.
There is an appeal against Fine also it seems.
So the "Punishment" and "Fine" after 5 month discussion by a committee was just a PR stunt. After making lot of noise in media regarding punishment, all charges and fines will be dropped quietly it seems.
As of now it seems YBK won't be available for ISL. Siliguri and Barasat can hold 20000. Of course they lack other facilities like media and all. But if due to this ATK plays outside Bengal, presumably in Tata or Orissa, will they get 40000 in every match? I think Siliguri or Barasat are better options with some temporary arrangements. Some people are talking about MB ground I know, but that is not a viable option I think.
what is the current status of Salt Lake Stadium? ISL are master of creating darkness and hiding under construction parts under banners. For Grass, they will bring 19th century Tent House Fans for aeration of Turf like last year.
