@lokeshchandaindia: You may be right but why this... 'Also, KBFC has a retired Sachin Tendulkar and some Mallu actors who aren't known by people who don't wear lungis'...I know you mean well but grouping/branding a certain section of people according to their attire does not behove any member of this forum...sorry if I am rude
@Rathindra The ISL starts in just a couple weeks and the I-League does not begin till January, after the ISL. Don't expect much about the I-League, signings etc for a while. The only clubs where we will see transfer discussion on are East Bengal, Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC, and the Goan clubs and they have their own threads or they are discussed here.
I think this Lokesh dude has a half baked knowledge on both south indian culture and how football business works.
Picture this from what he said. 200 crore loss in MANU can be covered by 0.5%? Yes becos its 200 crores and the club valuation is in Billions of dollors and not in crores.
Secondly Churning out of buyers and sellers on "Stakes" is required to rotate money into ISL buddy. This means there is a market and people willing to invest. People not willing to invest only makes this a i-league where there is hardly an investment done.
Any body thinking they will make profits in a football league within 3 years is deluded.
@DX ... If I have half baked knowledge then so do the creators of the ISL because according to some ISL club officials, in the bidding documents, ISL had promised all clubs that they would break even in the fifth year. Also, with no television rights pouring in the valuation figures are tumbling. KBFC for 200 CR is utter bullshit.
So, ISL lacking investors is an absolute bullshit. FC Goa now has another billionaire on board whose net worth is 2.2 billion $ . You really must be an ardent ISL hater, if you are not happy at this move.
ISL owners have already spoken about the "5 years" and admitted that it probably won't happen. We also need to differentiate what is said to the public and what is said off camera.
