Utpal's IFA has announced some changes today in the remaining match dates of Mohun Bagan, EB & MSC as compared to what was presented yesterday.  Hope he has taken green signal from his bosses so that he can now stick to his dictum of date can not be changed.
Waiting for this fiasco in the name of CFL to end & looking forward to see Virat Kohli & co play against NZ & England before the start of the I-League.

Kolkata : The East Bengal fans were waiting for a draw from Mohun Bagan against Army XI to clinch the CFL title for a record 7th time on a row but the Green & Maroon brigade had other ideas as they thumped Army XI by a rampaging 6-0 victory at the Mohun Bagan Ground today. Daniel Bidemi appeared to be the star of the show by scoring four goals and assisted once to catch Darryl Duffy as the joint highest scorer with 6 gioals in the CFL so far.

The second half emphatically was a rampage from the Mariners as they simply toyed with the Army defense. In the 53rd minute, Saran Singh’s cross was deflected in the box and Bidemi made no mistake to head the ball at the back of the net.

In the 59th minute, the Army custodian missed the flight of a Prabir Das free kick and Bidemi did exceptionally well to create an easy opportunity for Duffy to put his name on the goal scorer’s list which he gleefully accepted.

In the 65th minute, Bidemi again muscled his way through to shield past the Army defender with his left hand to place the ball at the back of the net with his unusual left foot.

Azharuddin Mullick got his reward of hard work as Prabir’s cross from the right was proficiently tapped in by the young forward in the 78th minute to make it 5-0! The talented youngster also placed a brilliant through ball for the hat-trick hero Bidemi in the added time to make it 6-0 for the Green and Maroon brigade.

Mohun Bagan started the game really well as Daniel Bidemi’s opening goal gave the lead to the Mariners in the 13th minute. Azharuddin found Bidemi as his goal-bound effort was deflected by Army’s Karuna Subba into goal to bring smiles on the faces of the Green and Maroon fans.

Though the lack of motivation was vivid in the Bagan camp as the supporters didn’t turn up in numbers, the players too were not pumped up in the first half despite the pep talks given by their officials before the match-day.

The brilliance of Daniel Bidemi though was creating pressure on the Army defense as he was providing some gorgeous passes for Darryl Duffy. Duffy missed a few great opportunities in the first half to extend their lead. Duffy’s curling free kick in the first missed the target as well.

The Man of The Match Daniel Bidemi said,”I have a contract with Mohun Bagan for the whole season with a clause that my performance will be reviewed after the CFL. My goal is to play in the I-League. I have some regret for not getting the opportunity to play in the derby but the officials were judicious enough to make the call of not playing the game which we all respect.”

Later, Mohun Bagan President Swapan Sadhan Bose clarified,”IFA doesn’t have any supporter. They will never understand our problem. If Bidemi had scored at Kalyani and supporters got agitated, who would have taken the responsibilities?”. Meanwhile Mohun Bagan releases Raju Gaikwad for his ISL pre-season training with FC Goa.

The victory will certainly be a morale-booster for the Bagan side before the next two games which they have confirmed to be playing in the CFL.
