When no one wants to buy the rights for I-League and the TV ratings are very low what other option do you have?

  • This fight is necessary for Indian football. Otherwise AIFF and FSDL are just bulldozing everything. Football is not all about money. It is about passion as well. A league becomes a proper league if there is representation of all supporter based club, franchise, low budget clubs etc. Otherwise it just becomes a circus as it is currently.
ISL has brought about some changes no doubt and specially in the case of broadcasting the league to the world. But similar could have been done with the I-league itself. I-league in its current form is a true representative of all above.
But whatever be the case 2 leagues cant go on indefinitely.

Please reply only if you are 100% sure.

    1. Is there any under 22 quota rule in playing XI in I-League?
    2. In points table, what's the preference first? Head to head or Goal Difference? Last year it was head to head. But this year by seeing the official points table, it seems to be Goal difference.

Real Kashmir went on top the other day because of their head to head record against CCFC as per the commentator

@DEFENCE123 ; What are the TV ratings for 14-15 hours daily of old ISL Highlights ??  What are the TV ratings of  telecast of children playing school Kabaddi on Star Network ? TV ratings of Ranji Trophy Cricket.

Can they publish ratings of these events and compare the figures with I-league ??

They had sinister motive when they pushed I-league to Star Sports 3 which few people have so that they can make a Ratings excuse later on.

If FSDL cant market or allow start sports to show I-League, they should give away the rights to someone else. They can walk out of AIFF.

@munna219777 showing ISL highlights does not cost anything. Showing live matches of I-League is very expensive and Star is losing a lot of money for brodcasting something nobody watches

Star TV should come up with official announcement that they are withdrawing I-League beause of poor viewership. They never did-thats why it looks deliberate and suspicious. What is the TV ratings or viewership for Children School  Kabaddi which they show so many times?

Without marketing, how people knows about the league..

If Star sports , market I league in the same way as ISL..  TRP ratings would be same/more than ISL..

Also what Star sports is going to gain by showing same thing all day (ISL highlights or repeat )... Its stupidity and these folks just wanted to promote their own league...
