TBH they were not that bad against Qatar U23 in that friendly, only problem that I saw  was the lack of good strikers.

for the 2nd goal Dheeraj should have cleared the ball with long kick. However, it was not his fault only

For the first goal,Dheeraj kicked the ball till the centre line, though it went straight to their player but centre line is a fair distance away, speed ially when you have your Defence Line and Midfielders in position. Even the top end Goal Keepers on many occasions have kicked the ball straight to their opponents but that wasn't dangerous.India conceeded the first goal due to poor Defending, instead of poor Goal Kick.

For the second Goal,When Dheeraj passed the the ball to his fellow Defender,no opposition player was in 10 metres of the receiving player, couple of the passes later there was a turnover due to sloppy play by the midfield which led to the goal.

However,he was tentative on a couple of occasions therefore I said he was okayish but the goals weren't his fault.

Nawaz and gill are miles ahead of him, but dheeraj starts just because he played one world cup and hype isl created around him.

Bro,That's not the debate. The debate is whether he was at fault for the goals or not??

Who is better among the three is another issue ??

Anyways, since the Tournament is over so it practically doesn't matter.
  • yes he was at fault (definitely for first goal), sarthak was asking him ball he told him to go ahead... in fact he signalled all players that he would take long goal kick ... now its understandable sometimes ball wont reach that long but when you take your time and signalling your team mates you should be able to deliver

even for second goal all he needed to do was kick ball outside why even bother messing in your own half when there are so many attackers are present but then thats not his fault alone (although totally avoidable situation)

Not Suprised with a result, this is the first time ever I missed any official match at the youth level. India U-23 have worst record comparing to the other age group teams and last time we looked good was during Papas time ( He had controlled over the selection) because there was one specific coach who has tasked of playing AFC u-23 qualifiers only.

We are making so many strategic plans but none of those experts unable to find the reason why all players who perform well at U-16 level goes to become bad at U-19 and then worse at U-23 level? ( Take the example of Sarthak, Daniel etc)

Irrespective of this performance and considering this was India's easiest chance to qualify for the main tournament as India needed one solid defensive performance against the host to keep the GD down and 3 points against Tajikistan our star talented players will keep on making huge money in the domestic league.

Earlier the issue of hunger was with Northeast Players but now all players are suffering from it.

Uzbekistan is a BIG team and people tend to forget that and expect to get results against them. Even draw against them would have been a big thing.
