Some five years back, we used to send our Fed Cup champs of that very season to AFC Cup. Not a very bad idea actually as those were in form teams and could bring in good results. I still remember EB giving Al Wehdat and a number of teams a run for their money while Dempo literally thumped some of these.

@Samyajit ; Federation Cup used to be held at the start of season. It made sense.

But now it cant be organised because it will interrupt with pre-season of ISL. Plus they wanted one slot in AFC.

Our clubs are finding it difficult in present format. Last year, Bengaluru FC made it on the last day of the Group matches courtesy Aizawl FC defeating New Radiant otherwise Maldives club was almost thru.

This year Abahani is in better shape to cross the Group hurdle.

The refusal to play Home matches in JLN Chennai for Chennaiyin FC also raises a question mark on their commitment towards AFC Cup.

So many times, ISL teams have been beaten up by I-league clubs in Super Cup, so this result should not have been a surprise.

okay. Are they going to organise Super Cup before season start - in August / September this year ?

Then thats a  good news. It will be beneficial as a pre- season tournament or both the leagues. If the winner gets to play in AFC Cup, then that will be great.

@sam if you have some shame stop comparing shitty super cup with legendary Federation cup both are not the same, Federation cup was the official KO tournament of India as recognized by AFC, fed cup shot has been now awarded to ISL, Super cup is nothing but tournament played for a junk tin trophy and not for iconic federation cup pure silver trophy.
