Uzbekistan is the best when compared to these teams.. Vietnam improved a lot.. Malaysia is weaker among the four u mentioned.. Uzbekistan > Vietnam, Thailand > Malaysia..
Malaysia may not be on Thailand's level but they are getting very close of late (They beat Thailand this month too. They've been playing some excellent football and have a good new generation of young players. They also have Bayern's ex youth coach as their director of football development and have a great player in Safawi Rashid
I asked because they beat Indonesia and thailand as well. So just wondering if suddenly they have improved or were they always improving since last 2-3 years?
Irrespective of the improvements ASEAN top4 Thailand,Vietnam,Malaysia and Indonesia all keep beating the other on their day..In that respect SAFF sometimes is similar between India,Bangaldesh and Maldives
@Ronny Yes I do know that Malaysia has naturalized players like Mohd. Sumareh, Corbin-Ong, Davies but they are still putting out talented Malaysian players who also contributed to JDT's great campaign in the ACL this time.
Also naturalization is a norm among all the big ASEAN teams.(Malaysia has less naturalized players compared to Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines) (Only Vietnam is an exception)
That aside, Malaysia also have been doing very well in youth tournaments too so they're definetly doing something right
