Why Arrows are left out from ur list?
List is not entirely based on current form.
So guys keep all your eyes on I-League and get ready to prepare a shortlist of playerss for upcoming Friendlies and SAFF Cup.
I would add Ashim Biswas. He should be selected before its too late. Its late already. He never got the due attention, extremely talented player
ashim was part of india senior teams at the start of bob's tenure but bob dismissed him due to his short structure and lack of pace. And obviously his series of injurieis didn't help his cause
Asim played with Rahim Nabi and Malswamtulunga in U16 team. When he joined National team during Afro Asian Games others of same age group like Nabi or Sunil Chetry were nowhere in picture. He was talented (I believe more than Sunil), agile (who said he lacks speed? ). Unfortunately for us continous injuries took many years from his career. he is back in form this year and should be included in national tem instead of craps like Susil or Saini.
In defence Arnab Mandal should be an automatic choice with gourmangi and Raju Gaikowad. We should say bye bye to Debabrata and Sameer. Anwar is too bad to consider even.
My fav team in 3-5-2 formation will be like this-
defence- Gourmangi, Arnab, Raju (Extra - Mahesh Gawli) Raju should be playing as a sweeper because Gournagi's marking (traditionally most of available defenders) is bit weak. bye bye to Sameer and Debabrata.
Mehtab Husain as defensive midfielder in front of the three-men defence. Baldeep (who played in 2nd match against Malasia) and Jewel Raja have the potential to fit in this place as well but they have to improve a lot.
Vasum and Rahim Nabi should be in wings. Both of them are very hard working, agile, capable going in overlaqp constantly at the same time come back quickly to support three men defence. Francis Fernandage, Stiven Dias are other players for these positions but they lack n defencive qualities. Gilbert is a good choice too. However I like lester Fernandage. His ball control and passing is cleaner than others. Miranda should not be included at all.
Attacking midfielders should be Sanju Pradhan, Lalrindika Ralte. Climax should retire. Lalkamal can be included but his lack of consistency is a problem. Brandon Fernandage, Shilton D'Silva and some others are coming up to take these positions.
We have many options in frontline. Surprisingly the coaches prefer those who are not regulars in their club teams. Four best forwards in the country in my opinion are Sunil Chhetry, Jeje, Asim Biswas and Robin Singh. I can comment on Joaquim as I have not seen him playing. Robin's addition can give some variation because of his strength, hieght. He is a good passer (helped Tolgay in many of his goals). Susil Singh, Baljit etc are surely not good enough for national team. Rather keep eyes on young talents like Malswamfela, Uttam Rai or Holicharan Nargery.
