It was wonderful to read your insights, @dhritiman7 and thanks for taking us down the memory lane.
If the NT really benefits form a groomer keeper like Subhashish, nothing like it but I really doubt that Stimac chose him for that role. Subhashish's career really never took off after the long-term injury he picked up while he was at EB in 2015, before that he was one of the best in the business.
Talking of goalkeepers in the long term, I would also name Arshdeep Singh in the list...was very impressive for Odisha FC in the ISL. Two other names that come to the mind are Anuj Kumar and Prabhsukhan Singh Gill. Our former IFN member @shanks used to rate Anuj very highly while he was at FCPC...he is now playing for RKFC on loan from Hyderabad FC. Gill is playing for Kerala Blasters now. Both were very promising but they need enough matches to play and game time to hone themselves and improve their skills.
They should add I-leage champion to ISL from this season . Every knows that AIFF and FSDL don't want that , i am sure they will use covid as excuse to stop expansion, 3+1 rule and min 27 matches for each team for upcoming season.
Vimal shone briefly as a striker but he soon faded away. I remember he scored against in 2006 against Afghanistan and Philippines. Chhetri was in the bench at that time. They are both the same age
I wrote about Vimal Parier in the past in forum. Vimal Parier was scoring at ease in junior level. Pumping 4 - 5 goals in a match in U-16 level against Nepal, B desh etc. He was signed by EB. Date of a derby and NT camp collided. NT coach (Might be Sukhwinder) asked all probables to join the camp and to skip derby. EB (Nitu, Kalyan & co) released all but Vimal. Tutu & co complained. Next day I read an interview of Priyo Das Munshi "Etto baro sahas (such audacity)". Vimal Perier perished and not even in radar. Another day in Indian football.
