@souravindia Transfermarkt works like this. When a club announces that a player left, they will mark him as free agent until the new club announces his signing. ATKMB announced he's leaving but JFC did not announce the signing. ISL website will be updated only close to the league, after the clubs submit their squad to the league.
A 30 year old defender, Alan Costa, from a Brazilian 2nd division club rumoured to have joined Bengaluru FC on a 2 year loan. Not an impressive profile, but you can never say with these South American players. Some adapt easily with the conditions here.
How is Alan Costa not an impressive signing? He is a starter and one of the best defenders at an above average Serie B club which is way better than ISL level. People are overrating ISL here.
Mauricio too came from Brazillian 2nd Div without a good CV but racked up 12 goals. I'd say Brazillian 3rd Div players could have a good ISL season ngl.
Leicester City F.C signed Jamie Vardy directly from 5th division to 2nd division (Championship) and he excelled both in Championship & Premier League. It doesn't mean that all 5th division English players are Championship/premier league quality. I'm referring to Arsenal signing 4th division Brazilian player.
Also it's funny to see the folks who is not rated Joni Kauko (Euro 2020 Finland player) , changing the sides now.
Nevertheless, it would be excellent signing by BFC. Alan Costa is just 30. On top of it, he played 66 games in Serie A (Brazilian top tier). At 6 feet 4 inches, he would be pretty much handful in set-pieces as well.
Agree Brazil Serie B has lot of quality players. Even Japan clubs scout players from Serie B. As we all know, Spanish 3rd & 4th division players are dominating in ISL & I-League.
Also as goalkeepar pointed out, Brazilian state leagues are very good as most of Serie A clubs ( like Sao Paulo , Corinthians & Santos FC ) field their best young players along with reserve team players in state leagues.

Since there is no thread for HFC yet in IFN, I decided to mention it in the "Indian football news updates" thread.
