In spite of his penchant for courting controversies and his poor coaching record after his BFC stint, I am eager to see what he achieves with RoundGlass Punjab
Underperforming, yes, in his recent years certainly. But what he did with BFC was phenomenal...assumed charge of a ragtag unit and made them the team to beat in Indian football. Two I-league trophies with a Federation Cup trophy to boot.
Completely agree with your point about deserving Indian coaches though
Kerala United signed Hafis AM from Churchill Brothers, Aryan Niraj Lamba from ATKMB (was on loan at CCFC) and extended Arjun Jayaraj's contract. They also signed some youngsters from Kerala. They have convinced them enough that all of them signed 2-4 years deals. Even Salman of GKFC is rumoured to join them.
Their current coach Shajirudheen Koppilan has been handed the role of Grassroot Development Coach and Bino George is rumoured to take charge of the team. Bengaluru United and Kerala United are two teams to look forward in IL Qualifiers. It will be interesting if there's a Kerala derby in I-League. Even Chennai City FC (Coimbatore) is very close to both.
