@dev_pfc There are some very active female fans in Manjapada who actually started all this and Jhingan deserves this reaction for his action. He gave a very long explaination (with the usual I have a mother, sister, etc.) instead of an apology. Manjapada officially took this up because of the sexist nature of the comments.
Still, a lot of fans believe they are in this campaign because they think being compared to girls is an insult. Don't know what to say to those idiots.
Jhingan's reaction is symbolic of a deeper malaise in Indian society--the bias against women and 'femininity' in the culture. It is true that we sometimes say things in the heat of the moment--whether after a tough competitive football match or in a political rally which we regret later but there is no way we should justify unsavoury comments against any section of society, whether women, people of alternative sexuality or any of the other "others" in our society.
It is an irony however that we continue to engage in seminars and debates on feminism, LGBTQ, dalit literature etc. in our academic circles while turning a blind eye towards these very underprivileged sections in our day-to-day activities
@Ronny KB has an upper hand actually 2 more points than MCFC for the same number of games. KB also play Hyderabad so a win will seal their entry more or less.
