Well to be honest I don't thik middle tier Asian teams were this good before. Lot of teams have improved in last 10-20 years. India have remained the same

  • We are talking about who will score, but I have realised 1 thing, we are not at all getting those balls to the people upfront to score. In last 10 matches how many chances we created? To me, while finding right striker is a must, we still don't have those midfielders who can create enough chances for anyone upfront. We hardly get 1 chance in a match. None of our wingers are world class level , so are the midfielders. I am sure even Manbir will be a able to score if enough chances are created, which is a scarcity these days

to certain extent, yes... We were very poor against Syria in Asian cup. even had worst games against Afghanistan... Most of our earlier NT coaches parked the bus in initial few games including Stimac.. But Stimac era is history, better not to discuss on this..

We were very poor against Mauritius. But we have created 15+ chances against Syria & had around 8 shots on goals. That is more than enough to score atleast 1 goal. Central Asian teams (not talking about Uzbekistan) would have scored 2-3 goals against Syria with those chances. As you said, we need to improve in mid-field as well. Since it is only Manolo's 2nd game, let's wait & see what he will bring to the table. He sorted many things after Mauritius game, even the ground condition is not great in 1st game.

Unpopular opinion: Anwar Ali should play as a CDM . He's physically not the ideal CB and can get overpowered by a foreign attacker easily .
He is decent with ball at his feet and if you're concerned about missing his long ball from our half , then he has the option to drop deep to receive ball and distribute from there while building an attack from back . Also he is intelligent (maybe 2 % better than other players,  but still ) to pick a pass in midfield.  And I feel he'll be more mobile and flexible than Jeakson.

OK ,uhh how much do they charge for AFC C license, asking for a friend 😁
