Armando Colaco is an excellent coach. He is capable enough to take up the challenge of coaching the national team and show results, be it in four months of one year. Though I think it is slightly unfair towards him not offering him a longer contract.
Having said that, I have some reservations against him. He is utilizing the national team trips for shopping for players for his club, Dempo. Add to this the allegations by some players that he solicited them to join Dempo in order to have a place in the national team.
These incidents put his morality in poor lights. I think he should be asked to choose either Dempo or Indian team, else be shown the door politely.

Dempo Sports Club coach Armando Colaco has undergone an angioplasty after doctors found two heart blockages. The former India coach complained of uneasiness on Thursday evening and was rushed to Apollo Hospital, Margao. Armando, who has been advised rest, will be out of action in the ongoing I-league for at least a month, official sources said.
