Having too many teams from 1 regions devalues their marketing value , especially with sponsors. This is the reason the IPL model is so successful in India.
The EPL style model of letting the best clubs rise to the top ( & then rich Arabs, Russians , Americans helping to catapult the team ) will not work in India, as regions like Nagpur, Orissa, Jharkhand etc. don't have a footballing culture that will ensure regular fans as well as local coaches who can nurture & develop the talent.
Sikkim , Wahingdoh , Vasco & the Kolkata clubs have deep enough pockets to develop academies & they sit in areas with an abundance of raw talent.
The I-League is heading towards a franchise model in 2 years and some changes will take place along the lines of Arsenalkid's wishes, but it has to be in respecting the existing tradition and history of clubs that have helped shape Indian football.
Exactly. Plus if I may add. 75% of the lower Premier League teams revenue comes from TV Revenue all over the world. Here in the I-League NO CLUB gains any money from TV. That is also why I want clubs to do Regional Broadcasting. Right now Cricket, Hockey, American Shitball and Basketball are all taking marketing interests in India and are all looking at PAN-Indian leagues. If they can do it, why cant we.
People who talk evil of Vasco SC does not know anything about the club. 90% of the Goan origin players comes through Vasco SC.
How did I know that this would happen -_-. Anyway what I say about Vasco only comes from what I hear and from what I hear is that they are a traditional club that could use some more work when it comes to off field matters.

If that is the case then Royal Wahingdoh might not in the final league, they are third currently in their group.
It will be 2 from each group making it 6 teams in the Final Round. Also dont count out Wahingdoh. They still have plenty games left.
Sesa has to play kalighat, gauhuati town club, techno aryan,i think they are 2 tough games in kalight and techno aryan
kalighat ms has to play a tough game in sesa, and two easy in quartz and sameleshwari fc
royal has 1 tough in techno aryan and maybe less tough in,guahuti town club, kenkre
tough to pick final 2 in this group
I think it will be SESA in first place and Royal Wahingdoh will just about get past Kalighat.
I think United Sikkim have it a bit tougher.
sesa,usfc,royal,arhima,langsing,mohammedan
and usfc /royal/arhima in i-league
RWFC 2-1Techno Aryan
