Ignore Mohammedan st your own peril :P...they have not lost even once in last 24 matches and for once playing some decent football...
I would like them in I-League as a 3rd team, not a 5th team. Also if Chirag stay up we could have 6 teams from Kolkata in I-League. I rather 2 more NE teams. They have a huge fan base to and bring in fans to there games and a Royal Wahingdoh and Shillong Lajong derby would be amazing and maybe Baichung Bhutia's team will bring in some more professionalism.
So, ONGC has kept a serious team and the way they won..they are a serious contender!!! (
Dont worry. ONGC wont cause much trouble. I think when Sikkim get there home advantage they shall do well and then when when Wahingdoh play I think we will see a dominate side.
Hey fun fact about the ONGC player who scored 2 goals today. His full name is Jatin Bisht Singh and he is a former India International with only 1 cap (37 minutes) in a World Cup Qualifier.
Yet another team disbands. Goodbye Guwahati Town Club. Lets see now, that is Kochi FC, New Delhi Heroes, Guwahati Town Club, Fransa-Pax FC, JCT FC and Mahindra United. So many clubs which have disolved because of bad management and AIFF. When will it stop.
Finally someone has come out with the truth. this has been happening for a while esp in the second division. It has a been a regular practice by the some clubs to influence referees and players before matches even meeting with players before matches and promising to sign them up. Aiff should tape all matches and give a strict directive to refs . I have to say that this has been normal practice for many kolkatta based club stalking hotels of opposition teams during the second division. I hope AIFF will take the necessary steps to check such activities. As an official of a club participating in the second division, and new to the field of national football, we are shocked!!!! at the audacity of such activities. Having the final round at siliguri and sikkim had already raised eyebrows, and everyone knows whats going to happen there.
Not just in the second division. I wont be surprised if someone comes and tell me some of the matches in I-league were fixed. 1-2 seasons back when CB and Dempo were title contenders, the last match of CB was happening in Kolkata while simultaneously Dempo was playing their last match. CB needed to score a lot and surprisingly they did score some 6-7 goals all of a sudden. If the title this time too is tied likewise, same thing will happen.
The problem is that there not much incentive for winning the matches for players/coaches. Look at the prizemoney. Heck Rs 5000 for MOTM! The players in GT Club were being paid rs 50,000 per month and for each match they fixed they got that whole month's salary at one go!
I am not defending the fixers. It is shameful anyway. But the AIFF and the clubs need to make the Leagues viable financially right upto the bottom division
