Chirah is not a PSU but I get your point. @mizo commented on the older forum that he is surprised by their pathetic defense. All the 5 balls that entered the D was converted. But he is optimistic and taking heart from the fact that they lost 1st match in Rd I 3-0 ut qualified
@somesh and how do we do that with 23 (or 24 if you count ONGC). Seriously I would like to know on what criteria did the teams qualify for the I-League 2nd Division. How did Simla Youngs FC make it and Delhi United FC not make it.
Next season the AIFF need to follow an American Soccer federation and what they do for 2nd Division teams. They give each club a very strict criteria around 4 months before the season. This criteria includes players, stadiums, area, team name, marketability and FINANCIES!
Also to add to better competition another requirement should be that you have to have finished in the top 3 of your state league (or top 7 for Goa and Kolkata Leagues).
This system may only allow around 8 clubs to actually pass the criteria which is good. 8 clubs that pass a professional criteria is better than 24 who knows how they passed clubs. Plus costs would be lowered.
Gauhati Town Club had been a good youth development side...i remember them participating in couple of mufc cup u-15 and also some other local tournaments...and really glad that they are just keeping their club to youth level and not decided to shut the shop....wish to see them soon in national football scenario, may be in lower division but at national stage regularly

Ya, they seem like one of those clubs that will always remain second tier and will never establish themselves as I-League regulars. Maybe a promotion here and there but relegation straight away.

Table after Round 1:
1) ONGC FC
2) United Sikkim FC
3) Mohammedan SC
4) Royal Wahingdoh FC
5) Kalighat FC
6) Vasco SC
7) Aizawl FC
Surprises!
That is right. That is why they are in 4th, ONGC FC, Sikkim and MSC won while Kalighat, Vasco and AFC lost. RW is in the middle.
