The East Bengal officials believe they have a great fanbase so they don't need these stars for that... what they do need is money, which comes from sponsorships and revenue... which can be obtained through good public relations and also glamour and "who you know"... thus step in the stars.

Well done to East Bengal if this goes down well (won't say smoothly, no disrespect to you guys ).

We have to think about that also, One can see top European club players going to Qatar for a flight launch, going to Abu dhabi for a marketing of Golf Course or flying to China for innugration of a Car Dealership. Why? This is because clubs need to provide value to their sponsors otherwise why will they support your club.
