Yes, read it today in Bartaman. BTW, as IFN members have reported, Bartaman is very unreliable and unabashedly pro-East Bengal. High chances of this being another cooked news. I have always thought that he would be a very decent signing. However, Ei Samay reports that Richard Gadze is the front-liner in this race.
EB academy inauguration on 16th January. Academy will be based out of Rajarhat ( Kolkata) and Jalpaiguri ( North Bengal). Bruno Cutinho IM Vijayan Kuljit Singh Bhaichung Bhutia are expected to be present for the launch along with former EB stars from Kolkata.
In other news, Shahrukh Khan and Kajol to be given honorary fan membership when they visit the club tent on 21/22 December for promotion if the movie Dilwale. They will be first members of the EB global fan club which the club intends to launch at the occasion.
Good news except for the Shahrukh-Kajol part. EB surely do not need film stars to increase fan base. On the contrary, the film stars desperately need all the possible platforms that can highlight their movie release (Dilwale in this case). So they are the beneficiaries, not the club.
Bhai, it may feel bad to us but its a reality Shahrukh Khan does give you eyeballs.
Also, EB beat Army XI by 2-0 yesterday in a practice match. Trialist Nikhil Pujari, a Mumbai lad scored both goals. There is also a good chance EB may play I-League with just 3 foreigners.
EB will use 4 foreigners, ignore what Kalyan babu says! He's shit, anyway. As for the SRK thing, if it's for a film promotion, it will be useless. But if you are seeing it as a long term vision (if ISL and I-League gets merged), SRK has been interested in buying ATK, which he missed out to Ganguly and co. So who has seen the future, club will talk to SRK's agent regarding this proposal.
