Ranti Martins has expressed his wish to stay in East Bengal for one more season. Fuelling speculation, he has said that he wants to play alongside Sony Norde. Heaping praise on Norde, he said that he loves the way Sony cuts inside from the wings. Asked if that meant he would be going to Bagan next season, he said that he would request East Bengal officials to bring Sony to this club as the atmosphere is now very good. East Bengal have reportedly targeted some of the star players of Mohun Bagan by trying to cash in on their financial doldrums. Probably all these are unfounded rumours; we could get the real news once the Fed Cup ends.
In another flip-flop, the club has stated that they have officially not signed a three-year deal with Dong. It was reported after the Kolkata Derby that the club management had signed a deal with Dong which would keep him with the club till 2018. But subsequent reversals, especially the Korean's sour relationship with the coach, forced the club to adopt a go-slow policy. Dong had even informed the officials that if Biswajit stayed as the coach next season, he would not stay at the club. But the tide has apparently turned with the arrival of Morgan. Dong is reportedly happy with the new coach and wants to continue his stint with East Bengal, though the contract has not been signed yet.
Of course, that's an anti EB newspaper for obvious reasons. Also a very pro TMC newspaper, as you would know a bucket full of TMC goons are in macha working committee.
