This has been going on from last season. Morgan always had high regards for Atanu Bhattacharya among Indian coaches. He doesn't want Alvito in the coaching team and keeps on hinting that every now and then to the media. Once again, the same issue, marketing gimmickry versus DEEP knowledge in football coaching and REAL accomplishments as a player. Atanu Bhattacharya made to the starting eleven of Asian All star XI during his heydays.

Most recently, TJM invited Terry Phelan (Irish world cupper, played for City, Chelsea and Everton) to East Bengal practice and wants him in the coaching team, he clearly mentioned he wants Alvito more on the playing side of things while expressing intentions to have Phelan on board, whether EB can afford it is a different issue.
Why Phelan? He was recently coaching the youth in Goa and from what I heard failed. He may have had a good playing career but coaching is so far not him.
Meanwhile it is stupid for EB to mess with Morgan's plan. You hired Morgan to coach the team, let him decide on who he wants,

Just because he failed in Goa doesn't mean he won't succeed in Calcutta. I agree officials shouldn't interfere, they can at best offer suggestions. Most club officials in Calcutta have political roots, no wonder they act the way they do. Even in Goa, Alemao Churchill is very different from the more corporate styled Srinivasan.

Maybe your right about Phelan, we will see. As for polotics and football... well you know.

I just dont want Tanumoy Basu to leave Arrows for EB, he is more than a GK coach there. He has been there for 2 years, know the players well. Also the goalies doing well under him.
