Pratidin's interview with Quess East Bengal coach @Alemengar regarding his personal life. His wife Evelyn is keen to visit Kolkata but for an accident to Alejandro's mom.Evelyn is a college lecturer. They have a son & daughter. The son plays football.
Some other info about Alejandro (as published in the report):
His favourite restaurant is "Chili's" at Quest Mall, he loves visiting the coffee shop at Hyatt Regency, his favourite food is the Spanish fabada and he is not fond of spicy Bengali food. Though he cannot cook very well, he can make coffee.
Football is his passion. Even on those days when the team is not practicing or does not have matches, he spends time by watching the matches of other teams and analysing the performance of his own team. He does not allow his players to read newspapers as he feels that it tends to shift the focus of the team
On being asked whether he would invite Sony Norde, his neighbour at New Town to coffee some day, he replied briefly, "No comments."
All that is fine, but why is he acting like a typical Kolkata coach and cribbing about itinerary?
EB has played the least nos. of matches and hence they have an advantage to assess the performance of other teams and can be better prepared. In a short league, if u play back to back games either in the beginning of the league/midway and if u lose points, it becomes difficult to make a come back as you have a catch up act to do and it invites pressure on the team. EB has had an advantage there also.
Also, only EB is the only team which has had considerable gaps between matches and till such time he was absolutely fine with the scheduling.
Now when he finds himself to play 4 matches in 11 days, he is behaving like a sulking child!
